Now At About Twoblock.

Mission Statement:

The TwoBlock Network's main aim is to bring together people of varying interests together via our content sites and have them share a common community outlet (the forum) so as to combine the knowledge and understanding the have towards a better whole...

Nah, really is all about having fun, and building a solid community of users who are all bringing something to the table.

TwoBlock History:

Born June 27th 2002 with a different purpose in mind, TwoBlock was little more than the personal website of its webmaster. However as time went buy a desire to acheive a grander goal and create a larger community based site grew and became the primary focus of the site.

By Adapting another site that founder and friends had created, the first TwoBlock was born. It was basically just a forum, allowing its users to come post and ultimately chat amongst themselves. It soon became apparent however that whilst in certain circles the "forum only" approach to websites can work, you often need a pre-established userbase to accomplish this, or offer something entirely unique from a community standpoint, and thus work began on redesigning TwoBlock to incorporate content.

By this time some members of the community had become hostees, sharing the server and forum with TwoBlock and they became involved with the process and an idea to instead of create a single site with everything on it create a network of sites all dealing with different content was born, but unfortunately was not realised fully and the majority of content was placed within a custom coded content system of TwoBlock.Net.

The TwoBlock system was not ideal, being somewhat difficult to use for most users due to a rather large preference to form of function. This meant that although content was being constantly added it was difficult to get to, and it became apparent that the site was not realising its full potential. Various ideas on how to improve matters, such as routing all traffic straight to the reviews page, or making the menu stand out more were considered, but in the end a total redesign was the option chosen, and work began.

After a considerable amount of time and a couple of false starts, the current incarnation of TwoBlock was realised, a network of sites dealing with a variety of content with TwoBlock.Net acting as the central hub.
